Diploma Projects

Recording Studio

Recording and mixing a full song

# studio recording

In Year 2 Semester 1, I took the module 'Recording Studio Fundamentals' where we learnt the fundamentals in a studio set up and routing the signal to be able to send audio to another studio and recording audio back into our workstation. To prepare for our final project, I learnt the importance of room acoustic treatments, microphone selection, placement and polar patterns, and navigating the digital workstation.

By the end of the module, my group and I were ready to record a full song. For the project, I provided and vocals and bass. I also individually edited the mix.

Sound Design for Games

Creating and implementing sounds for a game

# implementing sounds

For this module, I worked with Wwise to implement sounds that I created into the software which syncs it up to a game. As I create variations of audio for each event, I've internalised the importance of asset tracking and organisation through documentation.

Interactive Audio

Creating my own virtual instrument

# digital audio workstations

For my final project, I experimented with recording a kalimba into a virtual instrument by using conventional playing methods and fine tuning it using the Kontakt Virtual Instrument software in Logic Pro.

#DrugsFreeSG Competition

A short film video competition by Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB)

# lighting design

One of the aspects I was able to work on for this project was designing the lighting for one of the scenes of our film.

As a substiture for coloured gel, we used transluscent files to colour our lighting and used the intensity and warmness parameters on the lighting fixture to create our blend.

#YouthAgainstScam25 Competition

A short film video competition by SPF, Clementi Police Division

# cinematographer

For our 'Single Camera Production' module, my group and I were to produce a short film as a submission into the #YouthAgainstScams 2025 competition by the Singapore Police Force. As the cinematographer, my responsibilities included production and documentation of the shot list, storyboard, and A/V script, working closely with the director to refine our ideas and maintain consistent details.

By experiencing setbacks with scheduling and underdeveloped ideas, we improvised viable solutions and adopted our improved work structure for our future film projects.
